Ayan Trails have organized “October mini Naadam” festival on 22th October 2009 as a part of the travel program for the clients coming for Mongolia during the special
wedding celebration.
Around 40 horses gathered from different provinces to participate in horse race competition of this October mini Naadam, amongst which were numbers of country-wide known horses for its magic speed and strength. The Money prize and Impressive Trophy was funded by the guests and they were extremely happy for the organization of such a wonderful event. As well as traditional archery and wrestling competition were organized together with the local spectators. The October mini Naadam ended up with horse riding session of the quests and the mongolian barbecue feast. All volunteers participating in wrestling and the archery game, as well as young horse-jokers were prized from the guests’ fund. So everyone at the October mini Naadam was happy and satisfied. The weather was so nice with clear blue sky, warm sun, while the ground was sprinkling by early pure white snows.
This Naadam event was the second for this year which was organised specially for the guests by the AYAN TRAILS.
The first Naadam was held under the name “Songino - Nomads festival 2009” in Songino sum of far Zavkhan province on 23th July 2009. This July Naadam was funded fully by the Ayan trails for the aim of introduction to local people the possibility to attract more foreign tourist to this remote region. Locals got idea that environmentally and culturally safe sustainable tourism could benefit locals living with the community based tours.
Naadam program included 3 starts of horse race according the horse age, wrestling and archery competition among the spectators which gathered from 3 villages nearby. Beautiful couple in traditional costume contest were judged by the foreign spectators- the honored guests of the festival. Our guests were amazed to be part of this authentic event and the locals were happy to see enthusiastic “foreign people”- for most locals it was first time to see them in reality.
