The trek requires moderate level of trekking as it goes through wild areas of remote taiga region. The beauty and the wilderness of the environment are amazing. The area is not much visited by common visitors, just hardier travellers go there. Trekking adventure starts from the minute you step into a legendary Khuvsgul lake. The taiga surrounding the lake is inhabited by moose, reindeer, argali, Siberian ibex, red deer etc. As long as we forward farther the nature will present amazing untouched beauty. Wild flowers are spread between the rocks, while meadow flowers include edelweiss and many kind of herbs which are used for medical purpose by the locals. Tsagaan nuur and Darkhad valley is a low-lying area with more than 200 lakes, the largest is the Tsagaan nuur lake. The area is surrounded by extensive marshland, mountains and forested hills, the natural home of Tsaatan minority reindeer people. Magnificient Khuvsgul lake Trekking in Jigleg Taiga - Land of Tsaatan people

ITINERARY:


Day 1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to hotel. City sighseeing with visits to National History Museum, Bogd Khan Winter Palace Museum and Gandan Monastery. Hotel.

Day 2. Fly to Moron town, the center town of Khuvsgul province and a meeting point with your travel team. Your vehicles and a team will meet you at the Airport. Drive to Khuvsgul lake. Tented camp.

Day 3-4. Start our trek along the west shore of Magnificient Khuvsgul lake. Enjoy the lake and the vicinity area. Tented camp.

Day 5-7. Leave the lake and head to the west, pass Jigleg mountain-pass. Those days we reload our luggage on horsebacks and will leave our vehicles, as the landscape becomes difficult to access with cars. Trekking sessions for 4-5 hours a day. Tented camp.

Day 8. We will go down along the Arsain river and enter Darkhad valley. Reach Renchinlhumbe village for the leisure night in tourist camp in Mongolian ger. Happily, we will meet our vehicles and drivers here. Tourist camp.

Day 9-10. We cross Darkhad valley heading towards Tsagaan nuur lake. Trekking sessions. On 10th day we reach the lake - the northest point of our trip, where our trekking activitiy finishes.Tented camp

Day 11-12. Today we head back to Moron . On the way pass “13 ovoo- mountain pass”. Tented camp near Khuvsgul.

Day 13. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Relax time at the hotel. Shopping. Evening cultural performance. Firewell dinner. Hotel.

Day 14. Transfer to the Airport. Tour ends.
