Khangai region displays one of six natural zones of Mongolia which differs by its mountainous grassland with numbers of lakes and rivers dotted with colorful wild flowers, in order words - “paradise” for nature lovers. Its nature and weather conditions are appreciable for having a comfortable touring with whole family. We will start from legendary Kharkhorin and Erdene zuu area after which will traverse to the north- west towards Khangai mountain range. The region displays several freshwater lakes and there are wonderful opportunity to walk & hike, ride horses and camels,visit natural caves and slide at the sand dunes. Meeting with nomad families will be unique experience for the entire group. At the start of the tour you will have a tour in Natural history Museum for a view of impressive dinosaur sceletons as well as witness displays of rich animal compound of the country. ITINERARY:


Day 1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to hotel. City tour. Visit Gandan Monastery and Natural History museum with impressive dinosaur sceletons found in mongolian Gobi desert. Welcome dinner. Hotel.

Day 2. Start our trip towards Kharkhorin - the ancient capital of Mongolian Empire. Visit to Erdene Zuu monastery, which was built on the site of Kharkhorin ruins in 1586 under the order of Avtai Sain Khan, a distance relative of Chinggis Khan. During its peak period of activity, this flourishing monastery housed over 100 temples and 1000 lamas. Attend local souvenir market. First experience of mongolian ger. Tourist camp / or tented camp..

Days 3 – 4. Drive towards Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake. We will drive via Tsetserleg town and after having overnight stop near Ikh Tamir village, we will arrive at the lake. The volcanic area around the lake is certainly the highlight if nature and the lake is one of the beautiful lakes of Mongolia. The lake, bird life and mountains are protected within he 73000-hectare Khorgo -Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake National Park. We will hike to Khorgo volcano creater and visit interesting caves in its vicinity. Also there are ample opportunities for fishing, swimming, hiking, watching domestic yaks. Tourist camp/ or tented camp.

Day 5-6. Further from the lake we enter the mountainous area of Khangai Nuruu mountain range and cross Solongot mountain - pass. Head to Telmen Lake passing by Tosontsengel town. At the lake you are able to walk around, or hike up to the mountains. Short horse riding session. Tented camp.

Day 7-8. Continue our driving to Khar Lake /Black Lake/ - another wonder of natural beauty which occupies 40 sq.km area surrounded by magic sand hills. You will be impressed by the natural site: different kinds of landscape are harmonised into one natural scenery: sand hills, mountains, green forest and several lakes and rivers. Camel riding experience and visit to camelbreeding family. Spend rest of the day while enjoying the lake. Tourist camp/ or tent.

Day 9. Arrive in Uliastai town of Zavkhan Province. Explore the city. Visit to local museum. Provincial hotel.

Day 10. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. After some relax at the hotel go for amazing cultural performance of traditional arts. Hotel.

Day 11. Transfer to the Airport. Depart from Ulaanbaatar.
