Deer stones at Uushgiin Uvur

Discover mystical deer stones from the bronze age and travel back in time. This complex site is located south of the Uushig mountain of Burentogtokh soum, Khuvsgul province, occupying the approximately 400-hectare area. It is fascinating and interesting to see a complex of 30 deer stones and big khirgisuurs /altar for sacrifice/ and slab burials. In terms of statue number, skillful works, and illustrations this complex site is a great representation of this culture. Especially, statues with images of human face draw the attention of many scientists and are considered one of the rarest statues.

Summer is the best season to visit Deer Stones at Uushgiin Uvur and Northern Mongolia because of longer daylight and warmer weather. July is the best month to visit Northern Mongolia because its the hottest month of the year and the Naadam Festival, the biggest festival in Mongolia, is held on 10-12 July annually throughout Mongolia. But July can be overcrowded with tourists (both domestic and international). Other suitable month is August.

The average temperature is 24 C in the day and 8 C in the night in the Lake Khövsgöl region during Summer. There is about 26.8 mm of the precipitation and 60 percent of the humidity.
